Re: CUCM 7.0

Arvind,

If you're referring to virtualization that implies a deployment that looks and operates like multiple networks, but is actually using the same hardware and physical connectivity, then yes, CUCM 7.0 takes the first step in that direction through the support of insertion of Trusted Relay Points (TRP).

Search for "Trusted Relay Points" in the Release Notes linked here for more information:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/rel_notes/7_0_1/cucm-rel_notes-701.html

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Michael.

Re: CUCM 7.0

guys thanks. im not sure i quite understand TRP though as im not too familiar with virtualization other than running vmware :). i think the customer asked if we can have his potential call manager 7.0 run on his existing VMWARE that runs all his apps.

Instead of running it on his MCS hardware.

Re: CUCM 7.0

TRP is essentailly an MTP that allows for QoS re-marking.

CM 7 is not supported to be run in VMWare or any other virtualization product.

Re: CUCM 7.0

Hi Arvind,

For running CCM on VMWare, the answer there is, as Chris stated (+5 point for you Sir), no.

If this will be a production system, then they definitely want to make sure it is running only on one of the supported platforms.

Michael.
