CUCM 7.1 route pattern for USA fax numbers

Hi,

We have a Sydney IP Telephony cluster that is currently have issues sending fax to the USA.

Here is our setup IP Telephony setup

To call international, we use 0011 (country code) (city code) (local number).

In CUCM, we have a route pattern of:

840XXXX.!

local partition

Route List points to the RL -> RG -> local Voice H323 Gateway

Called Party Transformations

Discard Digits = predot

Prefix Digits (outgoing calls) = 12345

In local Voice Gateway we have the following dial-peers setup:

dial-peer voice 1 voip

description Fax Outgoing

preference 1

voice-class codec 1

voice-class h323 1

session target ipv4:X.X.X.X

incoming called-number 12345.

dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric

fax-relay ecm disable

fax rate 14400

fax nsf 000000

fax protocol t38 nse force ls-redundancy 0 hs-redundancy 0 fallback cisco

ip qos dscp cs3 signaling

no vad

!

dial-peer voice 2 voip

description Fax Outgoing

preference 2

voice-class codec 1

voice-class h323 1

session target ipv4:X.X.X.X

incoming called-number 12345.

dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric

fax-relay ecm disable

fax rate 14400

fax nsf 000000

fax protocol t38 nse force ls-redundancy 0 hs-redundancy 0 fallback cisco

ip qos dscp cs3 signaling

no vad

!

dial-peer voice 10 pots

description FAX OUTGOING

preference 1

destination-pattern 12345T

port 0/0/0:15

So far local, national and International works except fax to USA. Fax numbers in the USA are 11 digits long. I have debug ISDN q931 and debug voice ccapi inout on and I do not get any debugging activities on the VG when sending fax to any USA fax numbers. The USA fax number definitely works, by calling the number from a phone I hear the fax tone pick up.

Is there a limitation in CUCM that it only allows to route outgoing voice traffic on specific number of digits? Route pattern above=7 digits + international call=4 digits + the destination number=11 digits total 22 digits.

For example, 8409999=internal billing ID, 0011=Sydney International, 1=USA country code, 404=state code, 5389551=local number (not a real number)

Prefix Digits 12345 is use to identify that this is a outgoing fax call and a special rate for billing is applied.

840XXXX is use to identify the user so that we know who to bill the outgoing fax.

Thanks
