CUCM 8.0 + 3945 PVDM3

Hello all,

I have some weird problems, I want to use MGCP to control a bunch of FXO ports that my voice gateway (3945) has.

This router has a PVDM3-128 DSP installed (from factory), 4 VIC2-4FXO, 4 EVM-HD-8FXS/DID, 8 EM-HDA-6FXO, 4 VIC2-4FXO, 4 SM-NM-ADPTR.

All that info i got it from a show diag and show inventory.

My problem is that when i try to configure my voice-ports .... the possible options i have are:

voice-ports <1-3> / 0 / <0-21> !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So when i configure my gateway at CUCM, the ports dont match!, so the configuration never gets downloaded!

I need some urgent help please!!!!

if you need any show outputs please tell me!!

POST:

I went ahead and did a show ver....and found something REAALLLYYYY WEIRD!!

Cisco CISCO3945-CHASSIS (revision 1.0) with C3900-SPE150/K9 with 985088K/63488K bytes of memory.
Processor board ID FTX1435AKH6
3 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces
1 Virtual Private Network (VPN) Module
64 Voice FXO interfaces <--------------
32 Voice FXS interfaces <------------------
DRAM configuration is 72 bits wide with parity enabled.
255K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.
254464K bytes of ATA System CompactFlash 0 (Read/Write)

why does it add all the FXO ports??? how do i know which one im configuring????

Can you please provide "show diag" from your router?

Re: CUCM 8.0 + 3945 PVDM3

Based on your description, the interface count in show version is correct.

I think that even before the problem you have identified, controlling this kind of gateway with MGCP is not a good idea.

You will loose CLID, the ability of routing on called number, or running tcl/ivr scripts and more.

Using H.323 or SIP, with trunk groups, will be a much easier and robust configuration.

Also, you will find thta managing a large number of FXOs is a nightmare. It is imperative for good results, to use PRI for so many lines.
