CUCM 8.5.1 upgrade to 8.6.2a issue

Hi All,

I have problem when I upgrade the CUCM from 8.5.1.10000-26 to 8.6.2.20000-2.

In the 8.5.1 version, I installed "ciscocm.refresh_upgrade_v1.1.cop.sgn" and I can see the COP installed when show the "show version active".

After upgrade the 8.6.2, the CUCM restarted and shown the following screen:

CUCM.jpg

After that, the CUCM turn back to 8.5.1.

I'm using VMWare to upgrade this CUCM (6GB RAM, 2 Core CPU, 144GB HradDisk)

The attached file is CUCM upgrade log via OS Administration GUI page.

How can I solve this problem? Thanks.

Regards,

Ivan

CUCM 8.5.1 upgrade to 8.6.2a issue

Ivan,

You might be hitting Bug CSCtt18005.

As a workaround try and remove configured NTP references before performing 8.6.2 upgrade attempt. If it still does not work then remove configured NTP references from call manager and then make one of your router as a NTP server and make sure CUCM has reachability to that NTP server.

If it still does not work then please provide the complete ccm installation logs.

While researching an issue I

While researching an issue I across this old thread and I'd like to point out what the issue was here in case anyone else runs across it. The screenshot above shows what the issue is. The NTP was "synced" at stratum 10, which is considered out of sync.  Depending on CUCM version, stratum 1-5 or 1-9 are considered in sync.  10 is considered out of sync and was more than likely the issue here.
