CUCM 8.5 - old devices?

We have a fair amount of device turnover (broken phones that get replaced).

Initially, our team was just adding new phones and not removing their legacy counterpart.

Is there a way to audit the devices and figure out what phones aren't in use so we can remove them?

Thanks!

Im assuming you mean that the old phones were not removed from the call-manager. Are both phones plugged in and registered with the call-manager? If not then you can just view all phone that have an unknown status or no ip address and delete them.

That would work if these were desk phones that are always on, but they're all wireless phones that can be turned off and in someone's locker for days on end.

Is there a way to tell when a phone last registered or something like that?

In case anyone else is struggling with this, I found a way to find all of the legacy phones in my particular case.

Using the Cisco Unified Reporting page >> System Reports >> Unified CM Phones without lines.

This showed me a whole slew of phones that did not have DID's assigned.

Since all the other ones had live DID's assigned, I deduced that the phones without DID's could be deleted.
