CUCM 8.6 autoregistration and CUCCX

I have a very basic question about how autoregistration would work in one senario.  I would like to install Cisco IP Communicator on a virtual desktop, but the mac address is not consistent and changes after every reboot.  I believe that autoregistration may be able to solve this issue, but if the mac address keeps changing, does this also keep reconfiguring the Cisco IP Communicator to a new extension?  If so, then I don't think we will be able to configure call center agents with this technique.  Any help is welcome.  Thanks!

Yes, if CUCM does not recognize the MAC the device sends, it considers it a new device and assigns a new DN (assuming there are still available in the auto-reg DN pool)
