I see that the VMWare .ova templates for creating CUCM (CallManager) images do not include a USB controller.
I tried adding the basic EHCI+UHCI controller in order to mount a CUCM answer file (platformConfig.xml) from a USB key, however after adding this USB controller I get an error that "This hardware configuration is not supported" when trying to boot from a CUCM 8.6(2) installation DVD.
The installation proceeds fine if I do not add the USB controller to my virtual machine.
Is there no way to use an answer file when building a CUCM 8.6 VMWare appliance?
Thanks!

That would be correct. We don't support any USB functionality on CUCM running on a VM.
