CUCM Cluster DNS Change

Hi, I have a need two change the dns name that my cucm and imp servers are in.

So I am changing ALL servers in the 10.5(1) cluster from hostname.old_domain to hostname.new_domain

I have read and followed the guide for performing the domain name change from CLI, however I am unclear as to when in the process I should update the Server name from CUCM Admin (System>Server) as at present this is the FQDN of the server using the old hostname.

I understand that after changing each server you need to reboot that server and then all other servers in the cluster sequentially, but where to change to CUCM server setting is unclear.

Do I..

Option A.

1. Change server DNS suffix from CLI
2. Update FQDN of Server in System>Server
3. Reboot all nodes

Option B.

1. Change server DNS suffix from CLI
2. Reboot all nodes
3. Update FQDN of Server in System>Server

Option C. Something else.

I tried this on 1 node in the cluster (12 servers, 1 pub, 6 sub, 2 tftp, 3 imp) using the imp publisher last night using option B but it didn't feel right as I had to then reboot the imp publisher after updating it's FQDN in System>Server.

Any advice much appreciated.

I just did that yesterday, google has been kind to me... howerver both options forces a restart...

Just to clarify what I mean by hostname/domain: hostname.domain.com

Use that link to change the hostname on all servers and try not to skip steps, the last step in OS admin will force a restart.

To change the domain use set network domain [new-domain]
