CUCM transcoding. DSP farm adds to or replaces software DSP ?

I have a CUCM 6.1. My understanding is that this has 48 MTP sessions running in software?. If I connect the CUCM to an external DSP farm will the resources available on the farm be added to the existing MTP resources or replace them? Thanks.

You'll need to configure the MTP or XCODER into the MRG for devices to use it.

But you can configure SW MTP + HW to get a total of X sessions
