CUCM6.0.1 to 8.0.3

Hi,

We need migrate all data and licenses from CUCM6.0.1 to CUCM8.0.3 in a new MCS. What is the best or fastest metod for do this?

I read about install in the new MCS the 6.1.2 and upgrade to the 8.0.3 but i think that the backup of the 6.0.1 won´t works in the 6.1.2.

Thanks...

Place your PUT order to get your feature license for 8.0. After you have that open a TAC case to have your licenses (node, feature, and device) rehosted to the new first node MAC address.

As for migrating the data, you are correct that you must restore to the same version you backed up on. You can either do the upgrade on the existing hardware if it supports the newer versions or at least a bridged upgrade. Once the database is upgraded to the new version you can back it up and restore on the new hardware.

If you want to leave your existing servers untouched and do all upgrades/install on the new hardware you will need to install the same version on the new hardware first, 6.0(1). You can do the upgrades on that node and install your licenses at the end once you're at 8.0.
