CUCMBE 50 seat question

This bundle P/N states it includes 50 seats. But I still think you need the DLUs for the actual phones. So what does that 50 seat limit actualy mean? is there some kind of seat license that prevents you adding more than 50 users (i.e.nothing to do with actual phones).

Yes you need the DLU licences.

After summing things up you will find that CUCMBE is very expensive for just 50 users, so you might look instead to an UC520 or 2821 router with CME.

Hi Billy,

Just wanted to add a Link to the great tips supplied by Paolo :)

BE contains software and the first 50 seats. Each seat includes a CUCM user and a VM box. These are permanent licenses.

Organizations can select one of the base packages. The Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition base packages bundle the Cisco MCS 7828 appliance with a preloaded software suite and seat licenses for the first 50 users. The seat licenses included in the base package cover the server licenses, mailboxes, and ports needed for the initial system. Note that these seat licenses do not cover phone or device licenses.

Hope this helps!

Thanks guys. I realise its more expensive, but the customer wants features that CUCM can provide.

I was just unsure exactly what the 50 seat part related to.

Which features exactly ?

What about the CUCMBE 50 Users with Unified Workspace Licensing?  I think this is a pretty good option if you want the CUCM platform.  Unless I am

mistaken, that enables phones for the 50 users also, as well as licensing for Presence, although you will still need an adjunct Presence server.
