Hi Shaijal,

You are most correct my friend, the license file is not

part of the backup process You can keep a copy

on your FTP server or if you ever need to you can rehost

the license via CCO;

Using the Licensing Portal to Obtain Rehosting Licenses

Note You must have a Cisco.com password to access some of the URLs in the following procedure.

Follow these steps to obtain additional licenses for Cisco Unity Express features:

Step 1 Go to the licensing portal at www.cisco.com/go/license and click the link labeled Upload a Rehost Ticket.

Step 2 Click the link labeled Look Up a License.

Step 3 Enter the unique device identifier (UDI) and credentials of the device, then click Continue.

The UDI is printed on a label located on the back of most Cisco hardware devices or on a label tray visible on the front panel of field-replaceable motherboards. The UDI can also be viewed via software using the show license udi command in privileged Exec mode. The UDI has two main components: the product ID (PID) and the serial number (SN).

Step 4 Enter the rehost ticket and click Continue.

Step 5 Verify that the rehost ticket covers the correct features and click Continue.

Step 6 Enter the required information for the owner of the license and click Continue.

Step 7 Review all of the license information and click Submit.

Step 8 Download the license file or receive the license file by e-mail.

Step 9 Repeat the appropriate steps above for each device you want to obtain a license.

Step 10 Copy the license file(s) to a FTP or TFTP server.
