CUWL, UCL and VG gateways

Dear Sr

On the relatively new licensing mode there is a cost for the analog ports (VG224,VG248, etc) . On the old DLU mode based licensing the VG224 and VG248 did not need any DLU and the extra cost of having those products was cero, because, according to Cisco, the DLU were bundle into those product.

On the new model, the analog devices (VG224, Vg248) requires and extra cost of a user license. That means that the VG248 and VG224 are more expensive on the CUWL/ UCL model than in the DLU model? Any extra functionality?

Also the CUWL, UCL still is based on DLU and still the CUCM assigns 0 DLU to VG224 and VG248?. Whats the catch?

Thanks

From a technical perspective CUCM, CUC, CUPS, etc still require license files to operate.  So any devices that you register in CUCM will utilize DLU's.  Now how this works with purchasing of licenses and CUWL etc, you should likely get in touch with your Cisco Account Team and they should be able to explain the process for you.

Wish I could be of more help.
