Default Trace level setting

Jeffrey Knuckle

I am looking for a document that list the default trace level for each service on CUCM 6.0. I checked both Serviceablilty and System Guide for verison 6.0 but no luck.

Thanks.

usually the default level for all traces is set only to error, only when further troubleshooting is needed we change the setting to something higher to avoid CPU usage and disk usage.

How about RTMT, does the trace level setting affect its reporting?

if you mean what RTMT pulls from the server the only section that will notice changes will be the trace collection. The settings for the debug level only affect that part, any of the other statistics on the server will not be affected by any change for debug level

I want to set the trace levels back to the original setting (= error) but I want to be sure that this would not affect RTMT alerts.

There are a number of sub-services with their trace level set to 'Info' and I don't recall making those changes, I was thinking that maybe RTMT made those changes or needed it for its alerts.

in any case error level will gather some more info than just info level, so i would not worry about that. And the debug level should not interfere with the alarms you might have set
