Deleted messages

When a user goes into their voicemail (Unity 4.2(1)) and reviews delete messages, the are able to recover deleted email messages and review the deleted email as well as voice mail messages. While Unity is connected to Exchange 2003, they don't want to be able to review email using the phone. How can I turn this option off? I have already used the Advanced Setting Tool to turn off the return receipts option, but I don't see one for deleted items.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

when a message is deleted from phone it is permanently deleted, but if you use Unified messaging and try to delete a message from email, then you will be able to retreive this message.
