DHCP Scope and IP Phones

Hi,

1.How to remotely enforce an IP Phone to release its IP address and renew from DHCP server(we have 2000 IP Phones). Can this be done from CCM Admin/DHCP server? How?

2.Is it possible to erase the config of an IP Phone/Phones from CCM remotely?

3.How to manually erase the IP Phone config(including the image) from phone itslf, forcing it to download image/setting/ip again from DHCP/TFTP server.

Re: DHCP Scope and IP Phones

Its better to have the dhcp scopes on the CM for IP phones as it acts as tftp server and ip phones needs some tftp options.

Yes, it is possible to erase the configuration of an IP Phone from CCM remotely.

If you are using DHCP in your network, but you are not using auto-registration, you can manually add a phone to the Cisco CallManager database. If you are using DHCP, you do not need to assign IP addresses or TFTP servers.
