Dial-peer problem

Hi, I have a 2811 voice-gateway and I have a problem with dial-peer.

I have these two dial-peer betweens others:

dial-peer voice 2 pots

description Long Distance

destination-pattern ..[2-6].......

direct-inward-dial

port 0/0/0:15

forward-digits all

prefix 021

!

dial-peer voice 3 pots

description Mobile calls

destination-pattern [7-9].......

direct-inward-dial

port 0/3/0

forward-digits all

When I call the number 8339751223 in CallManager, it sends the full number ( 8339751223 ) to voice-gateway and the gateway matches with the dial-peer 3.

Why, if I sent ten digits and not eight?

When I launch the show dialplan number 8339751223 command, the result is the dial-peer 3 first than dial-peer 2.

Does anyone can help me?

tks

Re: Dial-peer problem

Hi,

Are your dial peers all up? Can you send the output of 'show dial-peer voice summary' ?

HTH, Avner.

Re: Dial-peer problem

ok, did wanted to see the full output of the command to make sure there is no other things involved, but never mind.

Next step would be to run 'debug voip dialpeer' and make a call from call manager to the problematic number. Then we might be able to figure out what is going on.

Let me know, Avner.

Re: Dial-peer problem

The debug doesn't have the outbound dial peer match in it, I'm interested in the part that came after what you pasted in. Can you provide with more info?

thanks, Avner.

Re: Dial-peer problem

Avner, good morning!

I Enabled the " debug voip dialpeer all ", more information appeared, see if it can help!

When giving match, should not he await all the digits before deciding the route?

I enclosed a file txt with the debug, because it surpasses the amount of characters allowed in Post.

Re: Dial-peer problem

Hi Leonardo,

Thanks for the debugs. He is supposed to match according to the longest match, but something is happening.

Can you send the output of 'debug voip ccapi inout' (it will be much longer). Also the full gateway configuration might help (take out the passwords and ip addresses. This way I can also simulate your config in my lab and see if I get the same results.

Regards, Avner.

Re: Dial-peer problem

Hi, Avner.

I have perceived that there is like a rotary between dial-peers 2 and 3.

You can see this in that attached file.

Let me know your opinion.

Best regards

Re: Dial-peer problem

It might be, I'll have to look at the output of 'show run' and of 'debug voip ccapi inout' to be sure.

Thanks, Avner.

Re: Dial-peer problem

Hi, Avner.

I tried something and the solution worked fine.

I put the "$" in the end of destination-pattern.

See below:

dial-peer voice 2 pots

destination-pattern ..[2-6].......$

direct-inward-dial

port 0/0/0:15

forward-digits all

prefix 021

!

dial-peer voice 3 pots

destination-pattern [7-9].......$

direct-inward-dial

port 0/3/0

forward-digits all

Now, it matches the entire number.

What do you think. Worked fine with me.

Re: Dial-peer problem

If it works, then it is good.

My personal preference is to have a digit for outbound calls (9 for example) and send that digit to the h.323 gateway. The gateway then strips the prefix from that called number.

Thanks for letting us know, point given :)
