Hi all
Due to the sheer amount of overlapping numbers on our worldwide sites, I am strugglign to find a free range for prefix dialling between sites!
Would it be possible to start the prefix with # or * ?
would there be any reason why we couldnt use this and does anyone else use it ?
cheers

Yes it will work...I have configured access code like #5 in CUCM and *7 in CME for couple of customer' systems and both worked fine.

In as much as this will work, you might want to consider re designing your over all dial plan. You can use the approach of site codes, such that even when the last 4,5,6 digits are the same the site codes will provide a unique dial plan for each location. That is a more scalable approach than using wildcards like * and #
