Hi Guys,

In the last October my Customer did upgrade CUCM 7.1.5 for 8.6.2 and Him prefered keep the versions of firmware IP Phone. Now He would like to do upgrade the firmware to the last or last but one. In any situations the version is many outdate. I did the spread sheet and need know if is possible to do upgrade the current version directly for the last version or In any situations is necessary to do intermediate upgrade.

Thanks,

Wilson

Review the RNs for the FW you want to upgrade to, if there's need to do a middle step, it will be outlined there.

Hi Wilson,

Here's an example of what our buddy Java is referring to. (+5 Java!)

I picked the firmware you want to use on the majority of your phones

9-3-1sr1

SCCP firmware upgrade issues

This section applies to the Cisco Unified IP Phones 7975G,  7971G-GE, 7970G, 7965G, 7962G, 7961G-GE, 7961G, 7945G, 7942G, 7941G-GE,  7941G, 7931G, 7911G, and 7906G.

Note

For  all SCCP firmware upgrades from firmware release versions earlier than  8.3(3) to Version 9.3(1) or later, you must first upgrade your phone  firmware to an intermediate version (8.3(3) to 8.5(2)) and then upgrade  to 9.3(1).

So, this shows you are good to go for the 7911,7941,7942,7961 & 7962's. Just do the same research on your other models.

Cheers!

Rob
