Hi,

we are facing incoming/outgoing voice issue some times in one of our location with PSTN calls.

when we check the router we get DSP allocation error. I have attached sh voice dsp group all, sh voice dsp detailed output.

please suggest what is wrong with DSP allocation. and affects calls

Hi Aok,

[+5} to you for gr8 explaination.

One doubt which was coming in my mind that can't we use Medium Complexity  instead of Flex since Flex allows oversubscription of DSP resources which introduces the risk of call failure if all resources are used. It accepts a call of any supported codec type.

regds,

aman

Aman,

Medium complexity consumes more credit compare to Default flex mode to process same call.

Please refer the following doc to get more in depth.

For ex: PVDM2-32 can support 32  G711 calls in flex mode however if you configure in medium or High complex then it support less call as it consumes more credits.

Cisco-router(config-voicecard)#codec complexity ?
flex Set codec complexity Flex. Flex complexity, higher call density.
high Set codec complexity high. High complexity, lower call density.
medium Set codec complexity medium. Mid range complexity and call density.

I don't have patience like Ayo to explain here.

Ayo,

I have already referred many docs created by you from last 2 months.

You really help in understanding.

Hi,

thanks for this clear explanation. much appreciated.

as we are using medium complexity codec and during oversubscription of DSP ,is there any chances for voice quality affected?

I am not sure if this will lead to voice quality issues, but this will definitely lead to call failures

Hi,

As i see the complexity configured for the few dsp profile is Medium which consumes more credits to process same call.

please  share sh run for nwk1-rpi-wan-2.

Hi Amon.

thanks for your reply.

attached the output you required.
