Re: DSP problem

There is a bug asociated with this problem CSCse39727

The error message "C5510-1-NO_RING_DESCRIPTORS" may be seen in certain network conditions when analog ports are connected to the PSTN and "supervisory answer" tones are enabled on these ports. The DSP associated with this message will restart affecting all ports associated with it.

Try this workaround

Under the analog voice-port, disable "supervisory answer dualtone xxx".

Re: DSP problem

Hi,

I also hit something similar to that.

The setup is the following :

Voice gateway is the router 3845 connected with E1 to PBX.The IOS is 12.4.15T1

I find the following on the logs

Oct 2 14:28:58 CET: %C5510-1-NO_RING_DESCRIPTORS: No more ring descriptors available on slot 1 dsp 13.

Oct 2 14:29:45 CET: %C5510-1-NO_RING_DESCRIPTORS: No more ring descriptors available on slot 1 dsp 13.

Oct 2 14:31:56 CET: %C5510-1-NO_RING_DESCRIPTORS: No more ring descriptors available on slot 1 dsp 13.

Oct 2 14:32:02 CET: %C5510-1-NO_RING_DESCRIPTORS: No more ring descriptors available on slot 1 dsp 13.

What we experience is that a after some minutes calls fall, can it be related somehow to that ?

Thanks for any help/idea

Re: DSP problem

I had a similar issue on a 2801, had to change the version of the IOS I was using and load new microcode onto the DSP's. This took care of the issue for me.

Thanks,

Re: DSP problem

What I can't understand is why the twin voice gateway with same IOS version and same dspware (9.4.0) doesn't experience the issue.

Thanks

Francesco
