dspfarm maximum session problem

Hi,

I am currently setting up a 2620 IOS gateway with an NM-HDV to give my company some additional Transcoding & Confbridge resources.

Due to the memory limits and the IOS l can only configure the basic commands for the DSP Farm (see URL)

Going by the example in the URL above with the amount of DSP in the NM-HDV in the router we should be able to configure 3 Confbridges & 12 Transcoding sessions. But when the configuration is applied to the router l can only configure 1 Confbridge or 4 Transcoding sessions -

DSP_VG#DSP_VG(config)#dspfarm transcoder maximum sessions ?

<1-4> Specify the maximum transcoding sessions value

DSP_VG(config)#dspfarm confbridge maximum sessions ?

<0-0> Specify the maximum conferencing sessions value

I have also applied this configuration to a 2620XM router using 12.4 IOS Train and had the same results.

Any suggestions?

are you aware that your E1 also takes resources from that pool?

if you look at the show voice dsp you can see 32 channels are already allocated for the E1

what you get to configure is what's free of those resources, if you need more sessions add more PVDMs, there are still 2 slots available

SIMM slot 0: Empty.

SIMM slot 1: Empty.

SIMM slot 2: PVDM-12 SIMM present.
