DST issue with 7940/7960 on CUCM 8.6.2

Hi Guys,

In the last 19 October, in any city of Brazil started of date summer time (DST), and the IP Phone models 7940/7960 not changed the time automatically. After restart physical or logical the IP Phone stay the correct time.

I read any posts in this forum, but, not is clear for me if this problem is related any bug or no. Any have idea about this?

DST issue with 7940/7960 on CUCM 8.6.2

Hi Wilson,

It could be related to the 7940/60 firmware but sadly the 8.1.2

is the latest and last firmware available for these models as they

are EoL

I would do one or all of these;

- open a TAC case

- upgrade to latest CUCM 8.6 SR

- install the 2013 DST/TZ

Hi Wilson,

There are a number of DST bugs that affect CUCM 8.6. I would have a look

at the attached bugs . Did you install any of the DST/TZ Timezone updates for CUCM?

DST issue with 7940/7960 on CUCM 8.6.2

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your contact. The timezone current is 2012j and it putted in march (previously 2012c), because, the IP Phone 7911 statyed 1 hour ahead after finish the DST in GMT-3 America/São Paulo. When we had the problem, putted the version 2012j and solved the problem, but, in this version not is informed that should to affect the model specific. The IP Phone 7940/7960 are many old and my suspect is about firmware version. Am I sure in my affirmation?

I read the 03 last updates about DST and nothing each speak about Brasil GMT-3 America/Sao Paulo

admin:show timezone config

Current timezone: Brasilia Summer Time (America/Sao_Paulo)

Timezone version: 2012j

Hi Rob,

I will verify with my Customer if want simulate this environment in the lab. I will follow your recommendation, first, install the 2013 DST/TZ, if dont solve, upgrade the latest CUCM 8.6 SR. In this moment open a TAC case not is recommendated, because, We don´t have problem, why the IP Phone stay the correct time after restart.
