E&M cards in network module

Hi everyone!

I need 2 E&M cards in my 3945 ISRG2.

Scenario:

NM-HD-2V network module with two slots + 2x E&M interface cards (VIC3-2E/M).

I already have one PVDM3-128 in my 3945 router.

Question:

Will this module use the same PVDM, which is present in a router, or I need to buy an additional PVDM and plug it into

NM-HD-2V network module to support these E&M cards?

DSP calculator tells me that I don't need no additional PVDMs, but i'm not sure about it.

Regards,

Aleksei

You can install the E&M VICs in the WVIC slots, no need for NM.

Problem is that I'm out of WVIC slots, thus I need NM.

Then use it.

That's what I want.

Question was:

Hi,

From link

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/access/interfaces/nm/hardware/installation/guide/Conntvoi.html

Note For the NM-HD-1V, NM-HD-2V, and NM-DS-2VE network modules, DSPs are on-board and are not field-replaceable units (FRUs).

Therefore this unit provides DSPs for you.

Thank You,

Now it makes sence

Aleski,

The NM-HD-2V only has enough DSP resource for :-

NM-HD-2V

2-slot IP communications voice/fax network module.

Supports up to eight channels of analog/BRI voice using medium complexity codec or six channels using any supported codec. (No support for T1/E1 or data WAN)

I think that in this sentence cisco wanted to tell NM-HD-2VE, not NM-DS-2VE. Even in google I didn't found

NM-DS-2VE module.
