ELM Licensing with Multiple Product instances

Hi

I have configured a stand alone ELM server for my CUCM licensing on 9.1. I am trying to add a second cluster to the server. I have added the additional product instances for CUCM and  Unity Connection. I generate a license request file and receive my license file and upload it to the ELM. How do I assign the contents of the license (561 enhanced users) to the new CUCM product instance. I can't find any documentation for this and when i look at the new cucm server, there are no licenses. Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Derek

When you add multiple CUCM clusters to one ELM server you essentially share those licenses between the clusters, is this what you wanted?

ELM Licensing with Multiple Product instances

Hi Dereck,

what u can do is create second Product instance for the second cluster in ELM under Inventory ---Product Instances.

under the License Management ---licenese---other Fulfilement Options ---Generate File request .Share the existing  file to licensing team for distribution .

ELM Licensing with Multiple Product instances

Hi Derek

Can you verify if the 2nd product instance can succesfully sync with the ELM.

You can check this on the ELM Server : Inventory -->Product Instance.

Select the product, click sync now button. Check if status says sucessful.

Hi Derek,

Licenses which are short can be borrowed from Upper tier which is done automatically.Like we do not have BAsic license but Enhanced is available.

Hence, enhanced license is used/loaned automatically.

Now, since the licenses need to be moved between clusters , licensing team intervention would be required.

you need to send the output of Generate license request to Licensing Team.

since 2nd product instance which contains IP address of Publisher of second cluster is already synchronised,u cansend the output of Generate License request to Licensing Team. This is what I understand.

ELM Licensing with Multiple Product instances

Hello Derek

If your product instance is synced, then ideally it should be taking licenses from the ELM.

Check on your ELM License usage page, if you have sufficient licenses.

Required Value should not exceed the installed value.
