encryption

I was wondering how much cpu usage it would take to put encryption on our call manager 4.1.3.... we are having people use arp poisioning to record conversations and has knocked down the call manager.

Re: encryption

While encrypting the media stream of a call will prevent someone from recording it, it will not solve your ARP spoofing problem. You would still be susceptible to MITM and DOS attacks. Using port security on your switches would be a solution. This white paper may help:

I have only used encryption a few times and haven't noticed any processor overload problems. It really does depend on many factors and I suggest you look for some capacity planning docs on CCO. Also, here's a Callmanager capacity planning tool that will help.
