Ephone ping

Hello,

I have one 2811 and a catalyst 3560 connected to another network. in this catalyst I connect an ephone 7940 and when I do a Ping to this ephone from the router it lost one packet each 10 more less, ?any ideas?

What port counters on switch and phone are saying ? Checking cabling perhaps ?

1.- Cable it?s not an option because I change it

The IP phones intentionally do not respond to EVERY PING, in order to protect them from DoS attacks. I have found it's been more like 1 in 5. Best thing to do is PING from a PC attached to the back side of the phone to test for physcial connectivity issues to the core; however, since you're on a different VLAN from the phone (should be), it will not test routing to the phone.
