Extending POTS line to a remote location

hello folks, i have a scenario which i need your assistance on.  The request is to extend the pots line via voip transport from the Main office to a remote location which is located two miles from the main office.  I have a couple of routers.  one with FXO (Main office) and FXS on the remote location.  can you guys send me a link to a configuration guide.  Also, is it possible to get it setup using two VG204's or one VGW in the main office and VG204 to the remote location.

please advise.  thanks

PSTN ----- FXO----VGW 1--------------- VOIP ------------VG2 --------FXS-------Analog phone

Extending POTS line to a remote location

first you can have one of the blow options

analog phone VG204/h323----VOIP-----VGW---FXO--PSTN

analog phone VGW/FXS----VOIP----VGW/FXO----PSTN

in the remote side you will need to have two dial peers  one for the analog port called pots and the other one for voip to send the call out to the voice gatway

example let say the analog phone number will 0123555 connected to fxo port 0/1/0

dia-peer voice 1 port

destination-pattren 0123555

port 0/1/0

to send calls to PSTN assuming PSTN calls start with 0

dial-peer voice 2 voip

destination-pattren 0T

session traget ipv4:x.x.x.x    where x.x.x.x the other end voice gateway IP address

at the head office you will need to have voip dial peer to send the calls to number 0123555 to the remote office gateway or VG

and ports dial peer for the FXO

assuming the FXO port number is 0/0/0

dial-peer voice 10 ports

destination-pattern 0T

port 0/0/0

forward digits all

dial-peer voice 20 voip

destination-pattern 0123555

session target ipv:y.y.y.y    ---where y.y.y.y is the IP of the remote office VG,GW

voice-port 0/0/0

connection plar opx 0123555    to send calls to this number

Extending POTS line to a remote location

you need a UC license in order to be able to configure voice related commands

check with show software license and see if its there or not

if its not you need to order one if you did not yet

hope this help
