Hello everybody

I'm implementing Cisco Unity 4.2 with Exchange 2003 based on document: Installation Guide for Cisco Unity Unified Messaging with Microsoft Exchange 2003/2000 (Without Failover). Release 4.0(5).

SETTING UP EXCHANGE.

Extending the Active Directory Schema for CU.

The questions are:

1. What exactly I am doing in this part, I have to explain to my customer and I do not have this clear??

2. In what computer I run the ADSchemaSetup from the Cisco Unity DVD 1 on the computer that has the schema master Role or on the Cisco Unity Server.

3. The Active Directory of my client will be

have some changes, if yes what kind of changes?

4. What Directory Monitor means??

Could someone explain me, this is my first implementation with Cisco Unity.

Thanks in advance

Hicham

1. This is necessary to add all the objects in AD that actually make Unity and Exchange work properly together.

2. The customer will need to tell you what server in their domain is the Schema Master, and a domain admin must be logged in to run the process.

4. You can actually view the file in the Schema update directory and see what all changes it contains.

5. The Directory Monitor just looks out for changes to the AD essentially.

If you follow the directions step by step, you will be fine. The actual process is very quick and I have done a bunch of them and never seen a customer impact.
