Hello all,
We're using Cisco 7962G phones (latest firmware) at end user's homes. Our ASA 5510 (IOS Version 8.4(3)) is configured as a Phone Proxy and we have a CME running on a Cisco 2851 ISR (IOS 15.1) on the back end.
The phones register just fine and people can initiate and receive calls without problems. However, very often during a call half of the line goes silent and we can't hear them or they can't hear us. This happens on calls to other phones registered with our CME and with outside callers.
One of my end users has two phones in his house; one for our company and one for another company. The one for the other company works fine (same phone, but I don't know what firewall or call server they're using). That leads me to believe that it's not a bandwidth/router issue in their house, but rather a problem with our network config at the office.
Any thoughts about how we can troubleshoot this issue?
Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
ASA phone proxy feature is not supported with CME. For phone proxy to work you need CUCM.

Maybe a terminology problem?
CME supports external phones via SSLVPN on ASA, this is a link to documentation:
