fast busy on an h323 gateway

out of the blue - when someone dials into a POTS FXO port on a 3660 gateway they get 2 rings and a fast busy. Plugging a phone into the telco line and it works fine. The FXO module was replaced and the router rebooted to no avail. When looking at the dial peer it seems to send the call onto callmanager using the connection PLAR but seems to be rejected by the Callmanager for some reason. This has always worked in the past.

Re: fast busy on an h323 gateway

What is the plar sending the call to in CallManager - a phone? CTI Route Point? What happens when you dial the DN in the plar command on an IP phone?

Also, check the traces on CCM to see what is happening to the call. Or even debugs on the router to verify it is not stopping for some reason at the router.

Re: fast busy on an h323 gateway

Have you tried resetting the H323 gateway on the Call Manager?

From the router you could use csim start XXXX to see if the router can place a call to the PLAR target. If this also fails you will know it is not the FXO module.

Re: fast busy on an h323 gateway

A good and easy thing to do is to follow the signaling path, so in order to do that please capture the 3 following debugs simultaneously for ONE call only:

debug vpm sig

debug h225 asn1

debug voip ccapi inout

With this we will be able to see which device is not responding as it should.

Resetting my gw worked. I didn't see the command csim.
