Would like to known experiences on people having Cisco Phones not using SCP, but SIP instead (flashed using SIP) and being connected to other standar SIP Servers (i.e, Asterisk, SER, OpenSER, SIPFoundry, 3PCX, other PBX makers that use SIP....).

That would help me to understand how open could be a Cisco installation.

I would appreciatte if you can forward me that examples & feedback to my e-mail addres, andres (at) europesip (dot) com

Re: Feedback on cisco phones connected to foreign SIP Servers

Hi,

without a doubt, Cisco phones are not the easier ones to connect to third-party SIP servers. Configuration is with tftp files only, no STUN, no multiple profiles, etc.

However, people routinely do that and is often successful depending by the correct configuration and modulo any bug.

The most detailed information is available on voip-info.org, look for cisco 7960.

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!
