FL-CUBE License or ISR G2 purpose.

Hi, everyone!

I am little bit confused with FL-CUBE license on ISR G2.

I cant understand, when exactly i need to purchase them.

In which case i need  them?

- to connect CME with any analog gataway, for example VG224

- to connect CME with any other gateway, ISDN or E1, for example.

- to connect CME with CUCM/CME

- to connect CUCM with any other IP telephony systems, Avaya for example.

- to connect CME with UNITY

- to connect CME with ISP PSTN via SIP/H.323.

- to connect CME with H.323 phones.

From all the above only this one:

- to connect CME with ISP PSTN via SIP...

And maybe 

- - to connect CUCM with any other IP telephony systems, Avaya for example if it's going to utilize SIP perhaps...

The reason for running cube is to move calls between protocols

Like:

SIP to SIP

SIP to H323

or the other way around.

You CAN run cube on a CME, it´s just a matter of configuration (and licensing) but it is not required. If you are not using sip for trunks to cucm or sip to a provider you don´t need it.

So, if a need to make trunk between CUCM in central office and CME in branch, i need  FL-CUBE license?

Trunk type beetween them must be SIP? Or via any other protocol?

Do you have terminating isdn on the cme that needs to route to cucm?

If so, yes. If no - not sure :-) - probably not but I would doublecheck with a cisco sales rep just to be sure.

Yes you run sip to cucm. You can do H323 on the trunk as well but if you do not have any h323 devices on the branch, sip is the way to go.
