forward all configuration on CUCM without a phone

I need to configure CUCM such that all incoming calls to a particular DID will be forwarded to an outside # (like an 800 #).  There is no physical phone for this DID.  I have been trying to do this with 2 different methods.  First using a "directory number" approach and second method using "translation pattern" - both with the outside # configured under the forward all boxes.  However, both methods doesn't appear to be working.  Callers will hear 4 rings and 3 fast beeps and the call terminates.

How should I configure this?

Is there a route pattern with # to match the forward to destination?

there is a long distance

there is a long distance route pattern 9.1[2-9]XX[2-9]XXXXXX (which covers the destination).  I can also call this destination directly from any phone.

Easiest method is the TP,

Easiest method is the TP, just make sure you're using the right CSS that allows you to reach the RP for the call.

There is no "#" in the

There is no "#" in the destination.  and the long distance CSS does include the long distance RP.

Assuming all incoming calls to extension 1111 (full number is 222-111-1111)should forward to (800) 888-8888, and my cell phone is (222) 222-2222.  I see the following on the CUBE routers when I place the call.

Immediately after I place the call -

CUBE#sh call active voice compact

 <callID>  A/O FAX T
Codec       type        Peer Address       IP R<ip>:<udp>
Total call-legs: 4
    175314 ANS     T0     g711ulaw    VOIP        P2222222222   172.30.202.164:19058
    175315 ORG     T0     g711ulaw    VOIP        P2221111111          0.0.0.0:0
    175316 ANS     T0     g711ulaw    VOIP        P912222222222          0.0.0.0:0
    175317 ORG     T0     g711ulaw    VOIP        P18008888888          0.0.0.0:0

There is a 8 or 9 sec of no sound/ring after the call is place, after I hear the 1st ring, CUBE shows the following -

CUBE#sh call active voice compact
 <callID>  A/O FAX T
Codec       type        Peer Address       IP R<ip>:<udp>
Total call-legs: 4
    175320 ANS     T0     g711ulaw    VOIP        P912222222222          0.0.0.0:0

You need a route pattern

You need a route pattern ending with '#' because the destination that you are forwarding to contains a '#' at the end. Configure a route pattern with # at the end and see if it works.

If you mean to say that the

If you mean to say that the forward destination does not contain a #, then basically you need to ensure that the forwarding css has access to the partition of this route pattern. If the call still fails, get the details callmanager traces for a failed call.

This is possible, you can

This is possible, you can forward a DID to another external number.

Just check CSS/PAR Codec's etc. I have done this several times, even for UCCX where a call is diverted to an external call center when people are waiting X minutes in the queue.
