FXO and Caller ID

Hi all,

I have 3845 router added to CCM as H.323 gateway.

I am using this IOS : c3845-advipservicesk9-mz.124-3i.bin

and it contains 2 VIC2-4FXO cards.

I added the configuration :

caller-id enable

caller-id alerting ring " 2 and sometime 1"

I tried to change the cp tone and other parameters but no luck.

I used : debug vpm signal and I found:

get_fxo_caller_id:Caller ID receive failed.  parseCallerIDString:no data.

but when if I connect analog phone to the line directly I can find the caller ID.

one more thing: When I can use the command:

caller-id alerting dsp-pre-allocate

sometimes I am able to find the dsp-pre-allocate and sometimes no?

Hi,

Please search first on the space before posting.

Follow the steps:

     1. Connect an analog phone and confirm if your service provider is sending the caller-id,

     2. If they are sending properly this is most likely a well known bug if you are facing on H.323 mode, upgrade the IOS to any 12.4(20)T or higher.
