Get CME to add digits to internal calls

If I have two CME sites, both with 4 digits extensions, one site is 4XXX and another 5XXX. I'm trying to get it so at site 4, they can just dial the 3 digits for onsite calls and the CME will add the 4 to the 3 digit number, and so on at site 5. I have the translation rule setup properly, I'm just not sure where to put it when the call is not going to a trunk or pots line. Any ideas?

Try this:

Router(config)#num-exp 4... ...

Num-exp is definitely the easiest way, but it would be used for all dial peers in the system between the incoming and outgoing legs. If you wanted to get more granular you could use a translation profile and apply it to the calling party's ephone-dn for the inbound direction.
