H323 gw - ACK timeout timer expired

Hello,

Using "debug ip tcp transactions" I've noticed these strange logs.

And I've a lot of them.

006310: Aug 30 23:31:19: TCP388: ACK timeout timer expired

006311: Aug 30 23:31:20: TCP388: ACK timeout timer expired

006312: Aug 30 23:31:21: TCP388: ACK timeout timer expired

006313: Aug 30 23:31:23: TCP388: ACK timeout timer expired

006314: Aug 30 23:31:25: TCP388: ACK timeout timer expired

006315: Aug 30 23:31:27: TCP388: ACK timeout timer expired

006316: Aug 30 23:31:29: TCP388: ACK timeout timer expired

006317: Aug 30 23:31:31: TCP388: ACK timeout timer expired

006318: Aug 30 23:31:33: TCP388: ACK timeout timer expired

006319: Aug 30 23:31:33: TCB365259C4 setting property TCP_TOS (11) 345C0C48

006320: Aug 30 23:31:33: TCB365261C0 setting property TCP_TOS (11) 345C0C48

006321: Aug 30 23:31:34: TCP0: ACK timeout timer expired

006322: Aug 30 23:31:34: TCP0: ACK timeout timer expired

Is this a normal behaviour or does it indicates a potential problem / misconfiguration on the H323 settings between router and CUCM.

Routeurs are 29xx and IOS 15.2(4)M2

Thanks,

JC.

This could be a potential problem where either CUCM is not sending an ACK for OLC or a similar message or it is being dropped along the way because of some firewall or routing issue. Couple of things that need to be done are

1) Check with the users if there are any dropped calls corresponding to the time stamp of these messages

2) Get the corresponding detailed callmanager traces and filter the h225/h245 messages to check if there are any messages being recieved from the gateway for which an ACK is not being sent by CUCM.
