Hi.
Placing the cucm interface in the Voice Vlan and with a pc with two network interfaces one on Voice Vlan and one on Data Vlan.
Configure a dhcp scope on CUCM within the same CUCM Subnet.
All switch ports will have both data and voice vlan.

Hi Syed.
Sure you can create Data Vlan and Voice Vlan.
On switch port , where you will connect cisco ip phone, you can instruct the phone to tag voice traffic with voice vlan ID through switchport voice vlan command.

Re: Help IP telephony Basics

If the 2 vlans are on the different subnets, will it requiire a router for the phones to regster or with out router using a layer 2 switch I can implement IP TELEPHONY ?

Re: Help IP telephony Basics

Hi Syed.

Yes you need a router to let 2 vlans with 2 subnets to communicate.

You can also separate Voice Vlan and Data Vlan without route them, but it could be not so easy to manage and not so scalable.
