How do I get the list.xml file to edit it?

Okay so im on UCM 6.1 and I cant just do a gui browse to the tftp directory. I have some new PNG's I want to roll out for backgrounds and I cant figure out where to put them or where to get the list.xml file to edit it.

The documentation tells me to use commands like "file list* file view*" from the callmanager shell, but it wont work. I believe it wants a path, and I cannot find any documentation indicating what the path would be.

I have tried to just do a tftp callmanager get /list.xml from windows, no luck.

SO whats the easiest (I am not very good with linux) way to get this file?

Yeah, it's really not hard to upload and create directories.

IPC uses the 7970 info.

Create the file and directories for 7970, restart the TFTP and you should see the options for backgrounds on the IPC.

If the file is already in the server use file get and the path, you can use ? for help.

If you're doing this for 1st time there is no file or directories as you need to create them.

The path depends on phone model, the size also depends on phone model.

Background questions for any model you can think of and any cucm version, have been asked PLENTY of times before in NetPro, PLEASE SEARCH NetPro for answers.

Re: How do I get the list.xml file to edit it?

Okay so I fumbled around and figured out how to view existing files, and you are right there is no List.xml anywhere. The next question is, how do you create the directories?

I have searched and cannot find anything for linux dummies. All the answers omit the basic stupid user stuff that I need being a stupid user in this case.

Disregard.

Just tried to upload to the new directory and poof it worked.

SO now I just need to create and upload this list.xml and I am golden. Thanks man.

Oh, which one does communicator pull from ?
