How do I monitor the number of voice calls on my voice gateways?

Hi all,

I have a 3845 with 4 x 2-port E1 VWICs, each port contains an ISDN30 circuit, therefore I have 240 voice channels connected.

How can I monitor the total number of voice channels currently in use, preferably via SNMP monitoring of the 3845? We also run LMS and are trialing the CUOM suite.

For example, if I use the command

show voice call status | i active

I get the response

239 active calls found

now in an ideal world :-) this figure, 239, is stored somewhere I get read via a SNMP poll?

Thanks

HI

See if cvCallActiveDS0s  can help you.

that seems to give inbound call volume only, is that to be expected?

for example, and I need to do this quickly

cvCallActiveDS0s gives me a count of 186

show voice call status | i active gives me a count of 191

show isdn active | i Out gives me a count of 4

and a call could have started or ended during the time I entered all commands, so I had 187 inbound calls and 4 outbound?

Hi

It shows "The current number of DS0 interfaces used for the active calls." It should show all type of calls.

I am assuming you are running 12.4 T release for this.

How do I monitor the number of voice calls on my voice gateways?

we are running

c3845-ipvoicek9-mz.124-24.T4.bin

Its just that whenever I check the SNMP figure is always not a correct indication of the number of active calls, we are also running a full UCCE environment, but I cant see how that would impact the numbers?

I just tried it again,

SNMP reads cvCallActiveDS0s as 186

show voice calls status | i active reads 194

show isdn active | i Out reads 8 and show isdn active | i In reads 186

any ideas? coincidence?
