How to Bulk import End Users with associated devices

Hello,

I have a customer who is running CUCM 9.1.1 in Production. Now I need to import about 500 end users with below attributes:

default password (Admin12345!) and default pin (123456).  [Note that, psw & pin can not be other values]

each end user belongs to Standard CTI Enabled & Standard End User Group

each end user has 2 devices associated for CTI control (7945 desktop phone and CSF device which are already registered and working fine)

I have tried using BAT.xlt inconjuction with User template, but I did not see "Associated Devices" columns in the Tabs of User/Phone-User in BAT.xlt.

Can anyone tell how to do this BAT using BAT.xlt pls? Thanks in advance.

How to Bulk import End Users with associated devices

Hi.

I also did in another way in the past.

-Created a couple of dummy users with associated device.

-Exported all users (in txt file)

-Imported csv(txt file downloaded from Bulk section on CUCM) on Excel

-Addedd new user in that spreadsheet with associated device.

-Saved file as CSV (with txt extension)

-Imported on CUCM Via Bulk

On spreadsheet passwords and PIN can be in cleartext.

Hi

You must set the 'number of controlled devices' or 'profiles' to greater than 0, this is on the far right of the spreadsheet. That adds extra columns.

Also ensure you have enabled Macros in Excel or it won't work...

How to Bulk import End Users with associated devices

Hello Aaron, I already set Num of Controlled Devices to 2, however, "Associated Device" column still does not show up.

Hello Carlo, thanks for your reply. You solution did appear in my mind before, and I am sure it will work fine if that text-based CSV file contains only number and english characters. However, I need to input lots of Chinese Characters in CSV file, and according to my testing, your solution will end up with those chinese characters are not rendered correctly. I guess that is text encoding related issues, that is why I finally go to BAT.xlt.

Any recommendations to solve that encoding issue?
