how to change CUE default system prompts..?

Hi All,

I am running CUE (Version 3.1) at Japan location. I have a call flow designed with Japan prompts which is working well. My issue here is some of the system default prompts like “are you still there” or “good bye” are in English. Is there a way I can play those prompts in Japan..?

The default CUE language is English.

Thanks,

Sanoop

Hi Sanoop,

That's correct my friend!

The download/install of the second language will not impact your

existing users until you manually change the "default" language

settings

Hi Sanoop,

For CUE, Here is some related info;

CUE - Adding or Removing Languages

Installing additional languages or removing languages must be done in online mode only. You cannot add or remove languages using the boot helper except when you perform a complete installation of the Cisco Unity Express software.

Installing Additional Languages

Prerequisites

The following information is required for installing languages:

URL of the FTP server.

Restrictions

You are limited to 2 concurrent languages with an AIM-CUE module license

You are limited to 5 concurrent languages with an NM-CUE, NM-CUE-EC, or NME-CUE module license

From this good doc (with Step by Step);

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity_exp/rel3_2/installation/guide_/nuinstall32.html#wp1109793

Here is what you need;

To download a language file for voice-mail prompts, go to http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/tablebuild.pl?topic=281001346.

Have a look at the method listed at this link that detals changing the CUE Language without losing all existing data;

Frequently Asked Questions

I have a working system and I want to change the language (while saving all the data on the system). Which procedure do I need to follow?

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the info... I need some more clarifications:

1. I am not looking for changing the language. Just want to change some default prompts in the script ("are you still there or good bye") to Japan.

2. Does it really require changing language from English to Japan for this..?

3. If I add the additional language, would it affect existing set up ..?

4. Do we need separate license for this..?

Thanks,

Sanoop

Hi Sanoop,

To change the "Prompts" to Japanese you have to change to the Japanese

language.

You don't need additional licenses for this

Thanks Rob..

It really helps.. I have AIM module and thru cisco docs i came to know that it will support 2 language. Presently i have only one language.Assuming all the users are using system default language,Would there be any impact to existing set up if I add additional Japan language..?

Thanks,

Sanoop
