how to ring several phones when a call comes in from the outside

My customer wants the following: when a call comes in from a main pstn number, they want all phones at this facility to ring (5 phones), so that someone will answer. How do I go about configuring callmanager 4.1(3)sr3a to do that? Is there a document to state how to do that? I have not done this before and need configuaration assistance please. Thanks.

One option is to use a shared line. A shared line is the same directory number in the same partition configured on multiple phones. The following link has instructions for adding a directory number. After adding the directory numbers, you will need to make sure that the main number gets translated to the directory number on the phones either by stripping digits at the gateway or by using a translation pattern.

Hi John,

You have a few choices here to accomplish this goal. The easiest way would be to use a "Shared Line" approach. For example, if the main DN was 5555 you would put 5555 on a Line Button on all 5 phones. When a call to 5555 comes in all 5 phones will ring and the call can be answered from any of the 5 phones.

You could also setup a Hunt Pilot for 5555 and use the Hunt Pilot, Hunt List, Line Group (with Broadcast Algorithm) to route the incoming 5555 call to the 5 phones simultaineously. Here are the reference docs;
