Can you describe your desired scenario?

The solution would probably be one of:

- Run Video Advantage on a PC with the webcam connected

- Run CUPC, CUCI-Lync or CUCI-MOC on a PC with the webcam connected

If you are trying to connect this camera to the phone directly, it probably won't work/be supported as the phone isn't likely to have drivers etc built in for a non-Cisco device.

As Aaron suggested you cannot use other video sources with the 9971. For starters Cisco didn't load other drivers; webcam drivers on Linux have always been a mess anyways. Additionally the Cisco camera includes a hardware H.264 encoding chip in it to offload this from the phone's CPU.

As a footnote: The CAST protocol that makes Video Advantage or CSF-based PC video work is not in the 8900/9900 phones. I thought they were going to add this but I still see no mention of it in the latest 9.2(3) firmware release notes.
