How to verify the Call manager issued Certificate?

Hi CCM 4.2 onwards supports self-certified digital signatures when we open admin pages. First time when I open browser opens a message box asking me to install the certificate ?.

From my understanding,such self-certified signatures should be checked with the issuing authority for authenticity. Though I am working on a secured environment where possibility of Man-in-the middle attack is rare, would like to know is ther any procedure to confirm the Digital Signature issued by CCM ?.

Any document/link related this is highly appreciated.
