I have a CE500 PC-24 POE switch. I am configuring an IP phone on a IPPhone+Desktop smart port. The phone is not a cisco phone. Does this switch port configuration require a cisco phone? If so, Is there a different config which I can apply to the port which will enable the port to trust COS/DSCP values taqgged by the phone? I need to connect PC's to the phones.

It the phones is not cisco, it doesn't really matter. Alos, oyu shoud not worry about dcp/cos, it will not make any difference if thye are set or not.

The phones will be tagging dscp 46. Will the switch reset the
value or will it trust the value?

It will not mess with it.
Even if it would, you would never have a problem anyway.

Allow me rephrase the question.
Will the switch Trust the DSCP tag from the
non-cisco phone with this configuration (IP
Phone + Desktop)?

Please read my posts above because I have answered your question twice already.

Your answer is not
clear. What does "will not mess with it" mean? Does that mean the value will not be reset or does it mean I should not change anything?
