Idle URl in 7940 required authorization

Hi Everyone,

I'm using the idle url feature to display logo on my Cisco IP Phones.

The phones ask me to enter a username and password.

After entering these credential the only softkey I can select is "exit".

Kindly please advice me how to disable the authorization and display the logo when the phone is idle (I'm using CCME)?

Hi Al Moutasim,
You must convert the image from color to grayscale, to use it on the 7940 or 7960 Cisco IP
Phones.  The image must be resized to fit the screen size of the 7940 and 7960 Cisco IP
Phones - the Width may be no larger than 125 pixels, and the Height may be no taller than
60 pixels. Then using Cisco SDK you need to convert the image to XML format. See detail on

Then put the XML file on your IIS server and configure following under telephony-service
on CME:

telephony-service
 url idle http://IP_Addr_of_IIS_Server/dir_name/logo.xml idle-timeout 30

Please let us know if the idle URL is invoked after above configuration.
