Whats is impact of adding translation rule on following

voice-port 0/0/0:15

or

inbound dial-peer 1 pots

The imapct is that matched numbers will be translated which is the idea.  Not much CPU overhead, etc if that is your concern.

i mean to say whats the difference when configuring translation profile between voice-port and dial-peer

Hi

If you apply the translation to the voice-port, it applies to all calls traversing the port.

If you apply it to a dial-peer, it applies to all calls matching that peer.

Which is best depends on your scenario. If you have one E1, and want all calls treated the same... apply it on the port. If you want different translations depending on what has been dialled for outbound calls, apply translations on the dial-peers... etc etc.
