Importing unity & jabber users from AD

1.The scenario totaly 200 active devices  are registered to CUCM ,CUCM users already part of AD,i need to integerate AD user to acess Cisco Unity for voicemail functionality will it be possible?

Should i create the enduser in CUCM & import to unity

which is the best practise?

2.Scenario there are 2 BE6K server one with high density  & another Medium density

Medium density server is dedicately  for redudancy purpose

In high denstity planned to install PUB,UC,IM,UCCX

In Medium density server planned to install only SUB

My question can i have redudancy for UC,IM,UCCX in Medium density server? required any additional licenses?

Importing unity & jabber users from AD

Hi Siva,

To answer your second query :

Can I mix Medium and High Density servers in a deployment?

A. Yes, any mix of BE6000 server types is permitted in a deployment, but in such case the total number of

devices supported is limited to 1200.

Can I order a solution with redundant servers?

A. Yes, order as many Medium and High Density servers as required. User licensing ordered with R-CBE6K-K9

will activate services across multiple servers. No specific licenses are required to enable redundancy for

Cisco Unified Communication Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, and Cisco Unified Presence.

Re: Importing unity & jabber users from AD

Regarding scenario 1 , yes you can create voicemail profile on cups and assign it to the user settings

You can use LDAP for pretty much everything you ask and that way there's no dependency between the UC products.
