We have the following problem,
We have a cisco 2811 with 5 voice ports configured as follows
voice port 1 123-456-7890 FAX
voice port 2 123-456-7880 FAX
voice port 3 123-456-7870 FAX
voice port 4 123-456-7860 CONF
voice port 5 123-456-7850 CONF
ok whats happening is that when a customer call us for example from
785-012-XXXX which match the last four digits of voice port 5 , callmanager answers the call and give the caller a dial tone as if that person was inside our office picking up a handset of one of our phones, instead to route the call to the main extension callmanager give the caller matching the first 4 digits of its caller id a dial tone?
i have look everywhere and i cant find a solution

voice-2811#debug isdn q931
debug isdn q931 is ON.
voice-2811#
then when i do
voice-2811#term mon
voice-2811#

Right. Now when a call comes is, you should see the Q931 output. Assuming you are telnetting to the router and the default debug logging options have not been changed.

it doesnt do anything, i too was waiting for some kind of log to show up
but no log was showing, yes i am using telnet to access.

Do show log. If debug to monitor has been disabled, maybe the the debug is there.
You can reenable monitor output with:
logging monitor debugging
Anyway. Assuming the called number is presented four digit, and the DP is set with direct-inward dial and incoming called-number ....
(four dots literally, not the full fax number)
Then the fax should answer calls from outside from any calling number.

can you explain to me again about the ....

Here you go, you had monitor logging disabled. reenter it as I indicated above.
Then retake the call.
You don't need to obscure private address in info configuration; they don't mean a thing to anybody.

#dial-peer voice 1015 pots
incoming called-number ....
direct-inward-dial
fix the issue, you were right about telco passing only 4 digits, thank you very much for all your help, and i guess i will put this issue in my book! but without you i couldnt fixed, it always takes more than 1 head to fix a cisco problem. thank you very much god bless you!
